En route to my next destination, I’ve made a stop in New York City. Just in time for the 4th of July!
I still have much more to post about my remaining weeks in the UK, but I wanted to share a couple of photos that I snapped this afternoon at the 9/11 Memorial. I’d visited the twin tower footprints a few days ago but stopped by again today. I was very moved to see flags inserted into the victims’ names. That’s nearly 3000 flags divided between both pools.
So beautiful. And so sad.
The memorial is absolutely stunning, and you can learn more about how the names are arranged at this website.
If anyone happens to read this post — while it’s still July 4th — I wish you a very happy and safe celebration.
More to come from the UK and NYC.
